It's the end of a long day. Daniel is hooking up the trailer and the boys and I are packing up all our gear. It is a daunting task...one I am too tired to take on. But...the sooner the trailer is loaded, the sooner we are headed home to warm showers and nice comfy couches. We sure have accumulated a lot of stuff!
All stuff that we have to continually load and unload. It's back breaking work.

A thank you note is an expression of gratitude. A way to show someone how much they and their actions mean to you.
In the day of digital communication, it seems the art of pen and paper is becoming just a memory. There is certainly a place for digital communication. Waiting in the car pool line, for the click list grocery order to be loaded in the car, or going through the car wash are all great times to pick up the phone and shoot off a quick text or e-mail of thanks. But, taking five or ten minutes at home, with personalized stationery and favorite pen, takes the note to a whole new level. The calendar may say it's spring, but here in Ohio we know that spring means we are in for a roller coaster ride.
This weekend we were at the top with warm sunshiny days. It reminded us that spring really is here and summer is right around the corner. Each year we learn something new..
When we first started this cattle business, we learned so much. Each year we would look back and were amazed at how much had changed and how much we had learned. We know so much more now than we did then. Each year be build on our base of knowledge, but when we look back, sometimes it doesn't feel like we are learning as much now. Maybe we haven't been learning as many things, but each lesson is just as valuable as the things we learned in those early years. |

AuthorHello! I am Heather... the city girl turned mom to manure loving country boys. My husband and I both grew up in the city, but spent weekends visiting grandparents in the country. We are first generation farmers who learn best by almost always doing things the hard way. I hope you enjoy following along with our adventures down on the farm. Archives
