Laundry.
Dirty laundry. Muddy laundry. Manure caked laundry. Smelly laundry. We've got lots of it!

It's a rainy Spring night and you are just crawling into bed. The phone rings. You get a horrible feeling in the pit of your stomach. The room starts spinning. You are trying not to panic...but all you can do is panic. The neighbor just called to tell you that THE COWS ARE OUT!!!
On the 10th day of each month, I take 10 random pictures. My goal is to give you a glimpse of the smaller details of our lives as well as challenge myself to pick up my camera and get better at taking pictures each month. I hope that you enjoy this as much as I do.
Last weekend was the final show of the 2015-2016 Ohio Cattlemen's Association BEST season. Another year in the books, and another year of learning and growth.
As we look back, we are always amazed at how far we have come. Each year we learn more about cows, farming, clipping, showing, other people and most importantly ourselves. What is your definition of a farmer? According to the Webster's Dictionary a farmer is a person who cultivates land or crops or raises animals. If the dictionary definition defines someone who is outside taking care of the land and animals as the farmer, who is the one inside taking care of the business side of things? Is a farm a business? Sure. For many farmers, the farm is their sole income. So if a farm is a business, doesn't someone have to run the business side of the farm? Sometimes the farmer is the jack-of-all-trades, but sometimes there is an outside farmer and an inside farmer.

AuthorHello! I am Heather... the city girl turned mom to manure loving country boys. My husband and I both grew up in the city, but spent weekends visiting grandparents in the country. We are first generation farmers who learn best by almost always doing things the hard way. I hope you enjoy following along with our adventures down on the farm. Archives
