Things We Love...Twisted X's

Not long ago, a new trend emerged in footwear at cattle shows.  It used to be that everyone wore square toed boots.

While boots will always be a fixture in the cattle industry, a new, more comfortable footwear item has stormed the scene.

My boys have jumped on the Twisted X band wagon.

Isaac used to moan and groan about how much his feet hurt in his old boots.  Now mind you...he didn't put them on until he was ready to go into the show ring, but the complaining always started right about the time we were loading the trailer.

Several years ago, Isaac used a Christmas gift card to buy his first pair of Twisted X driving moccasins.

He instantly fell in love with them.  When it was time to load the trailer, all he did was talk about how his feet didn't hurt.

Now...we don't let him wear his Twisted X's in the show ring...even though there was much argument about that.  Many people do wear Twisted X's in the show ring, and there is nothing wrong with that.  However, I still think there is something about the cowboy boot as a part of the cattlemen's uniform.

The biggest problem we had was Isaac would not take his Twisted X's off...including in the wash stall.  Then, he would try to wear them to school...but we had to put a stop to that.

My car smelled so bad I couldn't stand it.  I can only imagine what his teachers and classmates thought after a whole day of smelling that stink...and I don't mind cow stink...but these shoes were something else!

This past summer, Isaac outgrew his "uncomfortable" show boots and needed a new pair.  We happened to find a good sale on some flag boots for him.

Mom and Dad loved the price and Isaac loved the flag design.  To his delight, they also happened to be Twisted X brand.  He thought they were super comfortable, so we bought them...but mainly because I am cheap and they were cheap.

I never thought we would convince Isaac to wear cowboy boots outside the show ring, but he has surprised us all.  You can even catch him wearing them around town on the weekends.  The Twisted X boots sport the same memory foam insole as the moccasins, and he loves them so much he is insisting on another pair so he can have a work pair and a dress pair.
Walker has jumped right on board with his brother and now he has several pairs of Twisted X's.  Their shoe of choice is now the hiker.  They prefer the waterproof model because they don't have to worry about wet feet...because who would wear muck boots to the wash stall?

Walker even got a brand new pair for Christmas and  you would have thought the kid was in heaven.  They like the hiking boot better, not only because of the waterproof feature, but because they have a thicker and more supportive sole.  They can stand on hard concrete for over 12 hours at a cattle show and never once complain about their feet hurting.

Twisted X's are a little pricier than your average school or wear to the barn shoes, but we have learned the quality and durability are worth the extra price.

Made of durable leather, they take the abuse of teenagers and farm life with flying colors.  We have tried many of the name brand tennis shoes for the boys to wear to school, only to have  the seams rip out and the tread wear off in only a few short months.  Twisted X's also look much nicer with their schools uniforms.

It can be a hard bill to swallow, but Isaac's school Twisted X's are still going strong more than a year later.
Twisted X's have a look that is classic, but they also have some fun and colorful designs.

You can also purchase the boot insoles separately in case you already have a favorite pair of boots, but want the added comfort of the memory foam insoles.

My boys can guarantee that you will not be disappointed in a switch to Twisted X boots and shoes.

Oh...and Daniel was going to get a new pair of square toed Twisted X boots for Christmas...but he bought himself a puppy instead.  Guess he will just have to keep that on his wish list for next year.
