Daniel found a new toy.

You know men and their tools. They can never have enough and there is always another one they just have to have.

One of Daniel's co-workers brought in his new toy to show off and Daniel decided he just had to have one.

Amazingly...after I realized I wasn't going to talk him out of buying something he really didn't need...I am glad he bought it.

His new toy is a M ilwaukee Compact Inflator.

What is a compact inflator? Well, I'm glad you asked.

It's basically a small hand held air compressor.

A couple of weeks ago, we started baling our second cutting. Second cutting we always bale about 200-300 square bales that we use for the show animals in the barn and for taking to shows.

She may not be a pretty baler, but we only paid $500 for her and she doesn't miss a knot. She only gets used once a year and she gets the job done.

However, it never fails that after a year of sitting, the tires are always flat. That goes for the hay wagons too.

So the first order of business was to air up the tires.

It's so easy, even I can do it...but I didn't.

The first thing you do is hook the hose to the valve stem. Then you enter how many pounds of pressure you want in the tire.

Then you hit. the center button.

You are now free to walk away and grease the baler and check to make sure you have enough twine.

In about a minute or so, you have a completely aired up tire.

Daniel has quite a few other Milwaukee cordless tools that he uses for work. Since he already has other batteries he was able to buy just the inflator, but you can also buy the kit that includes it's own battery.

We do have a large air compressor, but it isn't always convenient or possible to get the piece of equipment with a flat tire back to the garage. After all, everyone knows the hay wagon never gets a flat until you are in the middle of the field with a full load of hay.

Now, we can just take the "air compressor" to the equipment.

Walker was bored one day and counted up all the operational tires on this property.

We have 105 tires!

No wonder we are constantly at the tire shop repairing or replacing tires.

I know it's not Father's Day or Christmas (just yet), but the Compact Inflator would make a great addition to the wish list for any man in your life.

When we start travelling to cattle shows again, you can bet we will be packing the Compact Inflator. It's small, lightweight and might just get you out of a pinch.

We always hope for the best but prepare for the worst.
