The Face of Emotion

They have learned not to show their emotion in the show ring.

To not let the frustration show.

But to me...I see so much emotion in their faces.

I watch them in the show ring and I can almost tell what they are thinking by the look on their face.
The subtle changes...but I know them so well.

He's taking a deep breath...just trying to calm the nerves.

This is it for her.

Maybe...just maybe...she will win it.

Come on Romance!

You had better walk or Mom is going to tell me "I told you you should have walked her more!"

She's a good one.

Pick her.

I'm not going to get pulled.

Am I really the winner?

Don't smile too soon...he may be trying to fake us out.

Whew!  I did win.

It's just a feather...but it's my feather.

It's not just a cowboy hat.  That hat holds a lot of meaning for him.

Any day now...

Slow it down Romance.
Once they enter the ring, all we can do is watch.

I love to zoom in my camera and catch all the emotion.

They are teenagers that say less and less, which means we have gotten better and better at interpreting their many  looks.

They love to show and are laser focused in the ring.

Some days are better than others, and some cows are better than others, but they always lay it all on the line.

Hello!  I am Heather... the city girl turned mom to manure loving country boys. My husband and I both grew up in the city, but spent weekends visiting grandparents in the country.  We are first generation farmers who learn best by almost always doing things the hard way.  I hope you enjoy following along with our adventures down on the farm.
