Rainy Days and Sundays...

10/29/2018

Never get me down.

I love rainy days.

And I especially love rainy Sundays.
Picture
Why?
The rain limits what we can do.

Our goal on Sunday is to rest.

That means go to church in the morning, take it easy in the afternoon and head back to church on Sunday night.

But...more often than not...

Sunday afternoons end up being the last few hours to get the to-do list done.

You know... the stuff that doesn't get you too smelly or dirty, but still needs to be done.

But yesterday...

The cows didn't get washed or walked....they got to rest too.

We all went to our separate corners of the house.

Daniel, sleeping on the couch.

Isaac up in his room building something out of Legos.

Walker in the office writing a paper on Shakespeare...and not enjoying it.

Me...on the couch...in my pajamas in the middle of the day...with my feet snuggled down in my foot warmer.

Our belly's full of warm soup and our bodies savoring the rest.

Unfortunately, these types of Sundays are more rare than normal.

So, I love that the rain forced us to stop.

We certainly don't need the moisture...but we sure do like the rest.

Now...it would be a whole lot more relaxing if I couldn't hear the...

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

Of the mysterious roof leak that has returned.

Monday is a new day.

A day to resume all those things we didn't do on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

Like calling the roofer.

Hello!  I am Heather... the city girl turned mom to manure loving country boys. My husband and I both grew up in the city, but spent weekends visiting grandparents in the country.  We are first generation farmers who learn best by almost always doing things the hard way.  I hope you enjoy following along with our adventures down on the farm.
