I have been a mom for 16 years. I can't believe it myself. This past year Isaac has grown from a boy into an almost man. He has matured and changed so much. It has been so much fun to watch. Last year I asked this slightly annoyed teenage some questions....let's see if this year is any different. How old are you? Sixteen Do you feel different now that you are 16? No What is your favorite color? You know that...Green. What is your favorite subject in school? Probably History. What is your least favorite subject in school? English What is your favorite food? Tater tot chicken casserole. What is one food that you hate? Corn. What do you like to do with your free time? Farm. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? Out West. What is one thing you always get in trouble for? I don't know... Are you perfect? No! Are you a messy kid or a neat kid? Neat. I am organized. You can see by our rooms...my room is neat and Walker's is not. What do you want to do when you grow up? Farm. Are you going to go to college? Yes. What if I don't? What do you want to study in college? Something Ag. Who is your favorite cow? Amber. What is one thing your brother does that really annoys you? Doesn't do anything. What scares you? Snakes. What is something you have accomplished this year that you are really proud of? Winning 3rd place in showmanship at Junior Nationals and winning Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion with Amber. What is one thing you want to accomplish as a sixteen-year-old? Get my drivers license before school starts. What kind of birthday cake do you want? I don't get one...I had one at my early surprise party in April. But...I do want a dirt cake. I haven't had one in a long time. Well.... He is definitely a teenager who likes to give one word answers. The past year we have seen Isaac take on more and more responsibility. He is a game changer around here. He works hard all the time and doesn't let the little things slip through the cracks. He is such an kind-hearted person. It has been a true joy for us to see his character blossom. He is always looking for ways to help and serve others. Isaac has had to deal with some difficult loss this year. But through the difficult times he has also gained some precious memories that he will hold onto for the rest of his life. Isaac heads off to a week at church camp today, so we won't be celebrating with him today, but during one of the most difficult weeks of his life, he got to celebrate turning 16 (it was just a few months early). He was surprised with the one gift every 16 year old boy dreams of...a truck! My little tiny baby is now about to get his drivers license and spread his wings. He talks about jobs and college and how to make money to pay for fixing up his truck. He is ready to grow up...just not sure Mom and Dad are ready for this. Happy 16th Birthday, Isaac!
