Fifteen years ago, yesterday, Daniel and I became parents. In some ways it seems like just yesterday, and in other ways it feels like I have been a mom for forever. As I did with Walker just a few weeks ago, I decided to ask Isaac a few questions about life. Insert teenage attitude (he really isn't that bad...just has his moments)... Just so you know...he is horrible at roller blading. I wish you could have heard all the sounds that accompanied this picture. How old are you? Fifteen. Do you feel different now that you are 15? Nope. What is your favorite subject in school? I don't have a favorite subject...they are all boring. What is your favorite food? Sweet-n-sour meatballs. What is one food that you hate? Corn. What do you like to do in your free time? Hunt. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? Denver, Colorado to the National Western Stock Show...with cows, not without them. What do you want to be when you grow up? A farmer. Are you going to college? Nope. If it ain't hard and it ain't boring...I don't care. What do you want to study in college? I don't know.... I am not at the portion of life yet... I still have a lot of years left... Maybe how to be a feed rep. What is one thing you always get in trouble for? Letting the cows out. Are you a messy kid or a neat kid? Neat. What is one thing your brother does that really annoys you? Lives here. Who is your favorite cow? Amber. What scares you? When people pass me on the road when I am driving the tractor. What is something you have accomplished this year that you are really proud of? Winning Reserve Best of the Buckeye with one of my own calves. What is one thing you want to accomplish as a 15 year old? Getting my temps. What kind of birthday cake did you have? Angel Food Cake. From just a tiny babe in the palm of his Daddy's hand... To the man he is becoming today. These past 15 years have flown by, and I know the next years will go even faster. It scares me to death to think that in a few short years he will be moving on. He is such an integral part of this family and farm. As much as we will miss his work ethic, we will miss our man even more (I was going to say little man, but he isn't little any more). Last week we had one on one time with Isaac while Walker was away at camp. It was such fun to see his personality and humor shine through. When he was born, the doctors where all worried about him. We were too ignorant to have a care in the world. Our little four pound, six ounce bundle was just perfect wearing his little doll clothes. Maybe we are just as ignorant today, but for all the faults we see in our children, he is still perfect to us. Isaac, we love you... And I hope you have a great week at camp.
