We had snow this week. Not much...about an inch after 3 days of light snow showers. It has been a very warm winter, so the snow was a nice change of scenery...especially since it covered the mud we have been living in. This winter has been hard. Not because of the cold, but because of the warm. Not enough ice to cause any damage, but enough to add some beauty to these cold winter months. Mineral tubs are essential to keep the animals going through the winter months. It must taste like ice cream because the mineral tubs are never left alone. The snow may be slightly covering the ugly ground...but there isn't enough to clean the mud off the cows. Smith has found the sweet center of an old abandoned hay bale. How is it the boys always stay cleaner than the girls? The ice is still hanging on the trees... And the bushes are holding the snow. The temperatures are finally supposed to drop later this week. Finally....we can get the tractors out and about to get some work done. Too bad this wood is in a frozen pile instead of in my basement waiting for the wood stove. You might also like...
