Hurry Up...and Wait
Showing cattle involves a lot of hurrying up...
Hurry and get to the show to feed your animals.
Hurry to the wash stall before it gets full.
Hurry and get your cow dry before the icicles form.
Then you wait...
Wait until it is time to start fitting your cow.
Then hurry up because the judge started moving faster and you are going to run out of time.
Then you wait because you are all done and it's not time for your class yet.
So what do you do to occupy yourself while you are waiting?
GIve Nick rides on the cart because he is just too tired to walk any farther...
Play with army men...
Talk with friends...and meet new friends.
Cuddle with your cow...
Or just take a nap.
Rough house and pick on the annoying kid...
Or play some barn football.
And when all else fails...
Ride a bull.

Hello! I am Heather... the city girl turned mom to manure loving country boys. My husband and I both grew up in the city, but spent weekends visiting grandparents in the country. We are first generation farmers who learn best by almost always doing things the hard way. I hope you enjoy following along with our adventures down on the farm.
