Christmas Wish List on the Farm

Christmas shopping season is in full swing.

If you are anything like me, you have run across the "perfect gift" all year long, but are just waiting for the right time to buy it. Now that it is that "right time" you can't think of a single thing to buy.

Here are a few ideas to help prompt your memory.

Or, If you have one of those farmers that just doesn't really want anything, hopefully this will help.

We learned a long time ago that it is just better to bite the bullet and pay a little more for a good pair of barn boots. We are big fans of the Muck brand of boots. They are insulated for winter, very durable and even provide enough support that Daniel can wear them to work all day if the weather is nasty.

When the kids were little, we used to buy the cheap rubber boots from Walmart for them to do chores. But, they are not insulated and their little toes just froze in the winter. Then we would buy them a pair of snow boots to go out and make a snowman. I quickly discovered that it cost more money to buy snow boots and cheap mud boots than to buy one pair of Muck boots. Not to mention that it freed up a ton of closet space. The price of that first pair of kids Muck boots was a little hard to swallow, but Grandma and Grandpa were more than happy to buy them for the kids for Christmas. Once we saw how well they held up and kept their feet warm and toasty, we have never looked back.

Now if I could just get Daniel to buy me a pair of steel-toed Muck boots so that he won't crush any more of my toes when we are cutting wood.

TheL.L. Bean Adventure Duffle is a right of passage in our home.

We call them "hunting bags."

I first bought one of these bags for Daniel about 10 years ago. Now, as each of the boys nears hunting age, they get their own personal "hunting bag" in their favorite color with their name embroidered on it.

These bags are super durable and have a lining that is very easy to wipe clean.

We prefer the large size without the wheels.

They are perfect for all the camo, warm clothing, ammo and anything that is needed for a hunting trip. We have also found them to be perfect for packing all our warm gear for the cattle shows.

The best part is that this bag folds up flat and can be easily stored under the bed.

I would buy it for him...buy I can't afford it.

I always have trouble finding beef cattle calendars, butthis calendar always has nice pictures.

It also has nice big squares for writing down everything we did to the cows on a particular day.

If you are looking to redecorate and add that farm feeling to your bathroom, thisshower curtain is a great start.

Or...if you just love cows so much that is is the first thing you want to see each morning...

While clipper boxes aren't essential, they are really nice. It is just nice to have all of your clippers in a compact, organized, and easily portable box...especially if you are doing any clipping for other people. This box allows you to have all of your clippers and accessories all in one space. It even has a special place to put all of your blades.

Daniel doesn't have a clipper box, but I know that he would love for Santa to bring him one.

Christmas is only a few short weeks away. I hope this list has given you some ideas for those hard to shop for farmers.
