We didn't ring in the new year and decade with any fan fare or big parties. To be honest, we all came home and took naps, warmed up left overs for dinner and then headed back to the couches for another nap...then off to bed long before the ball dropped. It was a glorious evening of staying in and catching up on sleep we didn't realize we needed. I don't know about you, but right now I am a little overwhelmed by 2020. It seems that every time I turn to TV, internet or social media, I am faced with goals, resolutions, organization and plans to master 2020 and start the decade off right. It's all a little exhausting. 2019 was a good year for us. To be quite honest...I'm not sure I am ready for it to be over. I know big things are ahead for us in 2020...but I am still savoring 2019. I spent New Year's Day scrolling through pictures on my phone. Those that have been around here for a while have seen many of the highlights of our year, but there is so much more that happened in between all these moments. The boys are growing up so fast and spend a lot of their time going in different directions. We are savoring these moments with them. Nash really is a family dog and isn't happy unless all his people are home. Sometimes we have to grab family time however we can...especially during hay season. And sometimes the celebration lunch is grabbing whatever you can find and sitting on coolers before you load the trailer. The food was awful, but reliving the show ring success was awesome. We logged many miles and saw a lot of the country. I tried something new...but don't worry, I don't have any plans to steal Isaac and Walker's show ring thunder. They will never be academicians...but we are O.K. with that. They really can't live without me. I leave for an hour and he ends up in the E.R.... And the bees are going bye, bye! I learned that cooking with teenagers...is just like cooking with toddlers. But they had fun...especially when they got to taste test the finished product. Our family had some great victories this year (and I am not talking about the show ring...but we had some of those too). There aren't any pictures to capture these moments, but they are still there deep in our hearts. We have been forever changed by 2019 and we are excited for what this new year will bring. For the first time that I can remember, we feel like we are on the edge of some really great things. We don't know what the future holds, but it almost feels like Christmas Eve...just waiting for all the goodness to come. You might also like...
