On December 10th we were at the 2nd BEST show of the season. The AGR Holiday Classic is always a fun one because it is our first show at the Ohio State Fairgrounds. Being close to home means we get to sleep in our own beds...even if we do have to get up before the crack of dawn to drive the hour into town. This weekend also happened to be our first cold snap of the year and probably the coldest weekend we have had in two years. We were spoiled last year with all the warm weather, but we were snapped back into the reality of winter this weekend. My 10 pictures this month are a day in the life of a show weekend. In the barn before daylight...feeding the cows. Cows eat before people eat. Working hard to keep the icicles off of the fluffy ears. No time for self...it's all about the cows today. A steady hand...but time is of the essence. A lot done...but still more to do. A short break to thaw the toes. All for a prayer to make the final drive. You might also like...

AuthorHello! I am Heather... the city girl turned mom to manure loving country boys. My husband and I both grew up in the city, but spent weekends visiting grandparents in the country. We are first generation farmers who learn best by almost always doing things the hard way. I hope you enjoy following along with our adventures down on the farm. Archives
