A digital scale helps us determine feed rations for each animal.  No, we aren't that precise, but the components of a feed will make it weigh more or less.  One scoop of feed may not be comparable from one feed to the next.  Weighing a scoop of feeds helps us to ensure the animal is getting the proper amount of feed.
